Survey library and question design
In SCL, a survey is a saved question or price design that you can reuse; your questions are answered by the synthetic consumers (personas) in a population. Every survey you save is collected in the Surveys library: multiple-choice question sets, plus the settings you enter for Price Analysis (WTP), Feature Price Impact, Priority Ranking (MaxDiff) and Competitive Analysis (Conjoint), known as price surveys. Creating, editing, renaming and deleting surveys costs no credits; credits are spent when a study that uses the survey runs.
Finding, editing and reusing surveys
Shows searching the Surveys library and filtering it by type, renaming and updating a price survey, and the dialogs for leaving without saving and for deleting. The final part shows a saved survey being selected in Quick Research.
The Surveys library
Open LIBRARY › Surveys in the sidebar. Surveys are listed as cards, 20 per page. Each card shows the survey’s name, its type (Survey MCQ, Price WTP, Feature Value, Priority MaxDiff or Competition Conjoint), the number of questions, features or prices (“N question”, “N feature” or “N price”) and its date. For surveys edited in the library, the date reads “… edited”. When you are not searching and All is selected, the newest card shows the LATEST badge.
To find a survey, use:
- Search box: Searches names and descriptions, and for price surveys also the product name and brand. You can also search by method name (“maxdiff”, “price”, “competitive”, “multiple choice”). Turkish special characters are matched as plain letters (ş as s, ı as i); if you type several words, only surveys that contain all of them are listed.
- Survey date: All time, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Custom range.
- Study type: Next to the All chip, a chip appears for each type that has at least one survey matching the search and the date filter; the chip shows the number of surveys.
If nothing matches, click Clear search and filters.
Creating a new survey
You create surveys in a study’s design step; the Surveys page has no button for creating one.
- Click New Research.
- Choose a vertical and a method.
- In the population step, select an existing population or create a new one.
- In the design step, enter your questions or price settings. You can write while the population is being prepared in the background; Next Step becomes available once the population is ready.
- Complete the design step and move on to the next step. The survey is saved and added to the Surveys library.
For the full flow, see Starting a new study.
Writing multiple-choice questions
You write multiple-choice questions in the design step that opens from the Survey card in General Research or the Multiple Choice card in Fashion. Question types, images, AI suggestions, conditional questions, limits and tips for writing good questions are covered in Multiple-Choice Survey. In this step, if you pick a survey under Import from Saved Survey and click Import, its questions are copied to the end of the list together with their images and conditions; changes you make to the copy do not affect the survey in the library. The Edit Survey page in the library, by contrast, has no Koşul (Condition) setting and no AI suggestions; to use them, import the survey into the design step of a new study.
Price surveys
The product, price, feature and competitor settings you enter in the design step of Price Analysis, Feature Price Impact, Priority Ranking and Competitive Analysis are saved as a price survey. Feature Price Impact appears as Feature Value Analysis on the design and report screens, and with the Feature Value badge in the library.
If you have a saved survey of the same type, the design step of these methods shows the Select from Saved Surveys panel. When you select a survey, its settings are loaded into the form and the survey appears as Selected survey; to undo this, click Remove selection. If you change any field after loading, the selection is cleared.
| Method | Setting | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Price Analysis, Feature Price Impact, Competitive Analysis | Price ladder: lowest price, highest price and step | Between 3 and 16 price points |
| Feature Price Impact | Features to test | Between 1 and 5 |
| Priority Ranking | Features | At least 4 |
| Competitive Analysis | Competitors | Between 1 and 5 |
The number of price points depends on the price range and the step: from ₺100 to ₺200 in ₺25 steps gives 5 price points (100, 125, 150, 175, 200). Each extra price point and feature increases the credits used by a study that runs the survey: if you run this survey in Price Analysis with 100 personas, it uses 5 price points × 100 personas = 500 credits. Details are on the method pages: Price Analysis (WTP), Feature Price Impact, Priority Ranking (MaxDiff), Competitive Analysis (Conjoint).
Clicking a price survey’s card in the library opens the Edit Survey page; change the fields and click Update. Price surveys saved from a study are named after the product with “Pricing Survey” appended (for example “Premium Coffee Pricing Survey”). Rename these surveys so you can tell them apart in the library.
Editing a saved survey
- Click the card, or choose Edit from the card’s three-dot menu. The Edit Survey page opens.
- Change the title, the Description field and the questions. To add a question, click Add Question.
- Click Update Survey.
- In the dialog titled The survey will be updated, choose Yes, update.
In this dialog, No takes you back to editing and Discard changes leaves without saving. After saving, you return to the Surveys page and the card moves to the top of the list. If you click Cancel without saving your changes, the Unsaved changes dialog opens; choose Keep editing or Discard changes. The same dialogs appear for price surveys.
This page has no Koşul setting and no AI suggestions; existing conditions are kept but not shown. To change a survey with conditions, import it into the design step of a new study and edit it there.
Renaming and deleting
To rename a survey:
- Choose Rename from the card’s three-dot menu.
- Type the new name in the Survey name field (up to 255 characters).
- Click Save.
Renaming does not change the card’s “edited” date.
To delete a survey:
- Choose Delete from the card’s three-dot menu.
- In the Are you sure? dialog, click Delete again.
Using a survey in Quick Research
You can run a saved survey without going through the design steps:
- Open Quick Research in the sidebar.
- In the Research Type field, choose the vertical. This field selects the vertical, not the method.
- Select a population in the Population field.
- Select the saved survey in the Survey Selection field.
- Click Start.
The survey is not copied; it is linked to the new study as it is. Saved surveys cannot be run in Ad Testing. For details, see Quick Research.
