Interface tour
After you log in, every page in SCL opens in the same frame: the sidebar on the left, breadcrumbs and the user menu at the top, the page content in the middle, and a round button in the bottom-right corner that opens Argus, the AI research assistant. This page introduces each part of the frame and shows where to find the screens people look for most often.
Navigating the SCL interface
Starts on the home page that opens after you log in and walks through the sidebar, the credits card, the breadcrumbs, the user menu and the Argus button in turn. Shows where drafts and reports are kept and where to follow a running study.
Sidebar
The sidebar holds three groups, with a Support link and the credits card at the bottom. The item for the page you are on is highlighted.
| Group | Item | What it opens | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| WORKFLOW | Argus (with the AI badge) | The Argus page. Clicking it from another page opens a new conversation. | Working with Argus |
| New Research | The vertical picker, which is also the home page. Every new study starts here. | Starting a new study | |
| Quick Research | The page where you run a saved survey on a saved population from a single screen. | Quick Research | |
| LIBRARY | Surveys | Your saved question and price designs (surveys). | Survey library |
| Populations | Your saved populations, that is, groups of synthetic consumers (personas). | Population library | |
| ANALYSIS | Reports | Results of completed studies. | Reports |
| (at the bottom) | Support | A form for sending a message to the support team. | Support and troubleshooting |
- Logo. The SCL logo at the top also takes you to the home page. While a study is running, the logo turns into a small runner; when the study finishes successfully, it does a short celebration.
- Collapsing. To collapse or expand the sidebar, click the small button on its top-right edge or press Ctrl + B (⌘ + B on Mac). The collapsed sidebar becomes a strip of icons; hover over an icon to see its name. Your preference is remembered.
- On a phone. On narrow screens the sidebar is hidden. To open it, tap the menu icon on the left of the top bar; the sidebar closes by itself when you tap a link.
Credits card
The card at the bottom of the sidebar shows your balance on the Remaining credits: line. The card also has a usage bar showing how much you have spent and a View usage link that opens the Credits & Usage page.
- If your balance is 500 credits or less, the label changes to a red Add credits! warning. You also need at least 500 credits to create a General Research study in the New Research flow.
- When the sidebar is collapsed, the card becomes a ring icon. Hover over it to see your remaining and used credits under the Credit Usage heading.
- If you are a member of an organisation, the card shows the organisation’s shared balance. In the collapsed view, (Org) appears next to the heading and the organisation’s name below it.
- The balance updates when you move to another page. In a focus group session, however, credits are deducted from the balance immediately while the session is running.
See Credits for how credits are spent.
Top bar
Breadcrumbs. The top left shows the path to the page you are on, for example Dashboard › Populations › Population Detail. To go back to a parent page, click one of the earlier items in the path. The first item, Dashboard, always opens the home page.
User menu. Click your name or avatar at the top right. The top of the menu shows your name, your email address and, if you belong to one, your organisation.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Settings | Opens the Settings Menu: Profile Settings, Notification Settings, Security Settings, Credits & Usage, Billing Settings, Appearance Settings and, for admins only, Organization Management. |
| Plan & Usage | Opens the Credits & Usage page directly. |
| Language | Switches the interface language to Türkçe or English. |
| Log Out | Logs you out. |
Argus button
Every page except the Argus page has a round Argus button in the bottom-right corner. To open Argus, click the button or press Ctrl + J (⌘ + J on Mac). Argus opens in a floating window over the page, and you can keep using the page. The same shortcut closes the window; closing the window does not stop the work Argus is doing.
The button also shows what is happening in the background:
- Needs approval: Argus is waiting for your approval before it takes an action.
- A study’s name (with a progress percentage for some studies): a study is running. Clicking the button opens that study’s progress screen instead of the window; to open Argus at this point, press Ctrl + J.
- A count such as 2 studies running: more than one study is in progress. Click the button and choose the study you want to follow from the list.
- A dot in the corner: there is a new update from Argus.
See What is Argus? for what Argus can do.
Home page: choosing a vertical
When you log in or click New Research, the Choose a vertical screen opens. SCL has no separate dashboard; the home page is the first step of every new study.
- General Research: General-purpose research with market segmentation. Opens the method selection screen (Choose Your Research Type).
- Fashion: Clothing research. Opens the list of Fashion-specific methods.
- Ad Testing: Video ad testing. It has only one method, so method selection is skipped and the population step opens directly.
Verticals explains how the verticals differ, and Starting a new study walks through setup step by step.
Finding past studies
Reports
Results of completed studies are listed on the ANALYSIS › Reports page. Drafts do not appear here; Multiple-Choice Survey studies in General Research, however, get a card in the list as soon as fieldwork starts. Narrow the list with the search box and the Study type: and Report date: filters. For details, see Reports.
Drafts
Studies you have set up but not started are listed under the Drafts heading at the bottom of the General Research and Fashion method selection screens. Each row shows the study’s name, the number of personas, the creation date and a Draft badge. Click a draft to return to the design step. The list shows your 20 most recent drafts; if you have no drafts, the heading does not appear either.
All studies: the Research list
The Research list, which shows all your studies together (drafts, running, completed and failed), is not in the sidebar. To open it:
- Open Settings › Credits & Usage (Plan & Usage in the user menu opens the same page).
- Expand the Your Usage section.
- Click any row under Your Reports.
You can also ask Argus to open this list for you.
The list has All, In Progress, Ready, Completed and Failed tabs and a Search studies… box. To rename or delete a study, choose Rename or Delete from the ⋮ menu on the right of its card.
- The card badge can only be Done or Incomplete. Draft, running and failed studies all show Incomplete; use the tabs to tell which state a study is in.
- The status tabs filter only the cards on the current page. To find an older study, use the search box.
Progress screen
When you start a study, a dark progress screen opens over the page’s content area. The status panel shows the PREPARING, RUNNING and SAVING stages in turn, and the progress bar fills as responses are generated. The Recent Activities area may show the latest messages, such as “12/40 personas completed”. The screen does not estimate the total time.
- When the study finishes, the screen shows Your analysis is ready. Click Go to Reports or wait; the report opens by itself after 3 seconds.
- If the study fails, the screen shows Experiment Failed. Support and troubleshooting explains what to do.
- On this screen, the Argus button reads Ask Argus about this run.
Notifications
SCL has no separate notification centre, and no email is sent when a study finishes. Follow running studies from:
- the Argus button in the bottom-right corner,
- the SCL logo in the sidebar,
- the Argus conversation, for work you started with Argus; the result is announced in the same conversation.
Language and theme
- Language. In the user menu, choose Language, then click Türkçe or English.
- Theme. In Settings › Appearance Settings, choose Light, Dark, Dark Classic or System.
Account and organisation explains where your language and theme choices are saved.
